Cox Automotive is seeking an experienced Marketing Automation Specialist with proficiency leveraging Salesforce Marketing Cloud and related technology to meet overarching marketing goals and campaign objectives. The Marketing Automation Specialist is responsible for building and executing cross-channel marketing campaigns within SFMC that meet the requirements of the marketing team and stakeholders. 

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of hands-on experience with SFMC and understands industry best practices related to campaign and email development and deployment. The candidate is easy to do business with, agile, can manage multiple projects at the same time, meet goals, and work with multiple stakeholders. This person can explain best practices for campaign journeys, manage the development and implementation of campaigns and overarching changes to SFMC to improve campaign results, and thinks outside the box to solve problems. The ideal candidate also enjoys learning new technology and is constantly looking for ways to improve process and their skills with SFMC (and related technology). The candidate will report directly to the Senior Manager of Marketing Operations. 

  • Support the Senior Manager of Marketing Operations and the greater marketing team to meet our marketing automation needs and business goals. 

  • Test emails, landing pages, forms, accessibility, and responsiveness of emails and landing pages.  

  • Perform ad hoc tasks related to marketing automation and segmentation. 

  • Create and communicate post-campaign analysis including targeting strategy, contact frequency, and channel recommendations. 

  • Build and constantly improve the company’s integrated marketing strategy, test plans, and overall program development while creating new flows, and nurture campaigns for prospects and customers 

  • Ensure quality of the SFMC software and data is maintained as per requirements. 

  • Manage prospect and customer database including creating and updating lists, segmenting data, and list maintenance 

  • Collaborate closely with marketing teams to define any new requirements, prioritize projects, and ensure the right attributes and data are available for relevant, personalized, and real-time campaigns. 

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field and 2 years of experience with B2B marketing (including demonstrated success executing marketing campaigns using SFMC), coupled with proficient level understanding and tactical knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud OR an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient with Salesforce Marketing Cloud’s Journey Builder and Automation Studio features.  

  • Demonstrated success executing marketing campaigns with proficiency using SFMC including database management, building nurture programs, smart-list development, setup, testing, launching, and reporting of campaign of results. 

  • Excellent verbal skills – Ability to explain complex ideas to laymen.  

  • Experience with html & CSS. 

  • Designing business solutions on the Marketing Cloud platform based on business needs. 

  • Experience with SFMC integration with Salesforce. 

  • Certification in SFMC. 

  • Experience and ability to analyze results and create meaningful recommendations for action. Experience establishing and maintaining system documentation and training materials. 

  • Must possess critical thinking skills, the ability to review reporting and make insightful, well-reasoned, data-based recommendations to internal customers on optimization and improvements of systems, integrations, and processes. 

  • Full understanding of how to create and leverage UTMs.  

  • Flexible & adaptable with the ability to work under pressure, to juggle multiple projects and requests, and to meet deadlines with close attention to detail and minimal guidance. 

  • Strategic thinking, entrepreneurial and self-motivated. 

  • Attention to detail and strong organization skills. 

  • Awareness email compliance (CAN-SPAM, GDPR, CASL). 

  • Experience with WordPress. 

  • Proficient with MS Excel.
