Description

The Sr. ServiceNow developer is responsible for developing high quality solutions that meet customers’ business objectives. This role will define technical system requirements and develop innovative business solutions by creating new and enhancing existing applications. The Sr. ServiceNow developer will contribute to implementing platform applications and capabilities on multiple modules such as core ITSM, ITOM, HRSD and customs applications. 

Leveraging the use of agile scrum methodologies, this role will work with the scrum team to analyze business needs, develop appropriate solutions, and ensure solutions meet stakeholder expectations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Works with customers and Scrum team to gain an understanding of business requirements to be addressed by the system.
  • Partners with solution architect to design a flexible, reliable solution that aligns with best practices.
  • Provides realistic development estimates for solutions and components to be developed.
  • Develops new and modifies existing solutions as per required requirements. Ensure applications integrate with other technologies when applicable.
  • Works with software test engineers to provide testing frameworks to successfully perform unit testing
  • Ensures developed solutions are peer reviewed and formally documented
  • Performs defect remediation to support quality assurance and user acceptance testing
  • Maintains all technical deliverables including technical design specifications and configuration changes.
  • Creates and provides support handover for implemented solutions within agreed timeframes, using existing standards.
  • Performs all work within Sprints with quality outcomes
  • Stays abreast of new technologies and best practices to ensure user requirements are continually met and exceeded.
  • Modifies the production deployment plan with references to update files and installation steps to ensure an accurate migration of code and artifacts from sub-production environments to production.
  • Provides updates, input, feedback, and work plan in Agile Scrum ceremonies (Standups, Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, Story Refinement, Sprint Review, Retrospective).

Job Qualifications – Experience/Education/Training:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, plus four years of experience is required; an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience will be considered.
  • 4 years of proven ServiceNow platform development experience, which includes developing ServiceNow integration solutions with external applications leveraging custom and pre-built APIs
  • Working knowledge of ITIL processes, ITSM, ITOM and HRSD modules
  • Intermediate level understanding of the key technologies relevant to ServiceNow integration solutions (SSO, SAML, SSL, Web Services, LDAP, JDBC, ODBC, REST)
  • Extensive experience scripting using Javascript: Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Actions, UI Pages, etc.
  • Experience implementing and configuring, Inbound Email processing, Flow Designer, and Integration Hub.
  • Extensive experience with web-based development languages (JavaScript, Angular JS, HTML, CSS, HTTP, XML)
  • Excellent verbal, presentation, and written skills.
  • Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to collaborate within and across teams
  • Strong understanding of the software development life cycle
  • Proven ability to meet Sprint commitments. Highly adept at handling multiple assignments concurrently.

Preferred:

  • ServiceNow Certifications (Certified Application Developer, Certified Implementation Specialist – (ITSM/HR), Certified System Administrator
  • Experience with Agile Scrum development methodology (Story estimation, Sprint cycles, Agile ceremonies)
