Description

We are a dynamic team that supports an extensive user community across Cox Enterprises and Cox Automotive with self-service analytics. Our team is focused on aiding and guiding internal users so that they can be successful in their reporting & analytics journey. We collaborate with other teams to improve data visualization processes to ensure the most effective delivery, quality, and governance.

As an intern on our team, you will have the chance to gain hands-on experience with industry-leading data visualization and analysis tools. Our toolkit includes software such as Tableau, Alteryx, and Power BI. While assisting in the refinement and development of our self-service analytics framework, you will develop your analytical and technical skills. If you are detail oriented, naturally curious, and passionate about data and reporting technology, while also wanting to make a real impact, then consider this a great opportunity!

Projects/Assignments may include but are not limited to the following :

You will have the opportunity to work on various projects that will provide you with hands-on experience in data enablement. Some examples of projects that you might work on include:

  • Migrating a large-scale self-service analytics environment to the cloud. This project will involve working with our team to assess, design and implement a plan to move our data and analytics tool to a cloud-based platform.

  • You will have the opportunity to learn about cloud architecture and best practices for data migration. Contributing to the definition of a self-service analytics framework at scale.

  • This project will involve working with our team to incrementally improve features of our framework for self-service analytics that is being used across our organization.

  • You will have the opportunity to learn about data governance, data modeling, and best practices for data visualization. Leveraging code to create automations in platform maintenance and support processes.

  • This project may involve working with our team to design and implement scripts and automation processes to improve the efficiency of our platform maintenance and support workflows.

  • You will have the opportunity to learn about programming and automation, and to apply those skills to real-world scenarios.

These are just examples of the type of projects you might work on as an intern on our team. You will have the opportunity to learn about the latest technologies and methodologies in the self-service analytics field, as well as to make a real impact on our organization's data enablement capabilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

  • Education: Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in a field related to data science, statistics, computer science, or a related field is preferred.

  • Experience: Prior experience working with data, whether through coursework, internships, or personal projects, is beneficial.

  • Internship positions are located in Atlanta, GA, Cox Enterprises does not provide a housing allowance. 

Preferred

  • Exposure to tool such as Tableau, Power BI, and Alteryx is a plus.

  • Some experience with programming languages such as SQL.

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS as well as data warehousing and ETL concepts is a plus.
