Cox Enterprises is hiring an Executive Compensation Manager to join our team! The Executive Compensation Manager is an individual contributor and a key member of our executive compensation consulting team.  The Executive Compensation Manager assists with the development, implementation and, administration of executive compensation programs, including, but not limited to, officer pay, annual and long-term incentives, and executive perquisite programs.

The Executive Compensation Manager will provide proactive thought leadership, stakeholder management, and will serve as a strategic partner to the business. This person is responsible for understanding the business and providing executive compensation counsel in support of business and enterprise-wide objectives.

The Executive Compensation Manager will report to the Senior Director of Executive Compensation.

Position Responsibilities

  • Lead market pricing efforts and evaluate jobs using data to inform competitive position to market

  • Ability to take data and convert it into recommendations that enable actionable decision-making

  • Assists with the administration and design of long-term incentive plans across the enterprise, including communications

  • Responsible for Board of Director compensation program administration and communications

  • Involvement across the enterprise on all executive transactions (i.e. new hires, transfers, promotions, separations, special incentives)

  • Assists in maintaining and administering enterprise-wide perquisite programs

  • Partners with payroll, finance, accounting, and legal on executive-related compensation plans and agreements

  • Provides strategic guidance to the business on executive compensation-related decisions in partnership with HR business partners

  • Ensures compliance with current compensation philosophy and legal requirements

  • Provides input and assistance during M&A activities

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree and four years of relevant experience is required. A Masters and two years’ experience, a Ph.D. and, up to a year of experience or eight years of experience will be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.

  • At least one year of experience in a management or lead role.

  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills required

  • Clear executive presence and strong customer service orientation

  • Requires demonstrated advanced Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team

  • Strong financial acumen; analytical and creative problem-solving skills

  • Discretion in dealing with confidential and sensitive information

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities under tight deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Executive compensation background preferred

  • CEP and/or CCP designation a plus

  • Experience with HCM tools and software (e.g Workday) and/or Compensation Management Software (e.g. Payfactors) a plus
