Description
The Lead Risk Specialist (LRS) is a Risk Management position and is based out of the NextGear Capital corporate office. The Lead Risk Specialist is responsible for assessing non-default accounts in the Core Portfolio (Lines of credit up to $750K) that have exceeded heightened risk indicators and executing timely decisions on each account within their assigned portfolio. These decisions directly impact the overall health of NextGear Capital’s Key portfolio and impact the Company objective of obtaining desired collection rates at time of write-off in the Key portfolio.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversight of the health and performance of NextGear Capital’s Key Portfolio
- Identify accounts with elevated risk concerns and make decisions as to how to resolve poor account performance, up to and including default
- Coach desired dealer behavior as it relates to account performance
- Collaborate with Field Operations to monitor the performance of assigned portfolio, reduce company delinquency and write-off percentages
- Create and maintain Collection Management/Discover and other systems of record for each account in assigned portfolio to aid in tracking and managing of assigned client base
- Organize and conduct meetings with Field Operations and Management on high-risk accounts
- Reconcile collateral audit issues, resolve outstanding collection issues, and engage with client to ensure compliance with NextGear Capital expectations
- Leverage risk data to maximize dealer performance and make appropriate decisions
- Analyze dealership financials to assess health of dealership and identify potential cash flow issues
- Analyze monthly risk reviews and collateral audit results to identify risk concerns, analyze performance trends, and determine a dealer’s ability to repay NextGear Capital
- Work collaboratively with Field Operations and various other departments within NGC to achieve both individual and department monthly goals, as well as overall company goals and objectives
- Identify dealer performance issues and risk early and coordinate with Field Operations and Management (as needed) to develop collection strategies and execute timely decisions to exit relationships
- Coordinate with Remarketing to take possession of and liquidate remaining collateral when required
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bilingual French/English required
- Microsoft Office
- Critical thinking and analysis
- Highly organized
- Strong negotiation, collection, and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to communicate to all socioeconomic levels clearly and effectively
- Strong interpersonal skills, strong written and verbal communication skills are essential to internal with all levels of the Organization
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Discover and Sales Force
- Ability to provide objective perspective for the company relating to high-risk accounts
Education and Experience:
- BA/BS degree or 4 years work related experience
- Three years of collections or recoveries experience preferred (commercial/auto loan collection experience preferred)
- Two years of experience in automotive or finance industry with 4-year degree preferred
- Four years of experience in automotive of finance industry required with no 4-year degree
Other Responsibilities:
- Must meet monthly risk department pre-write off collection goals
