Description

Cox Enterprises, Inc. is hiring an experienced and highly motivated Senior Tax Analyst to be a part of the federal compliance strategy and process team for Cox Enterprises, Inc. The ideal candidate will have a foundation of tax compliance experience, the ability to multi-task, and effective written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare federal corporate tax returns; be the primary point of contact for the consolidation process, which has 75+ entities.

  • Prepare partnership returns, including the gathering of data, calculation of capital accounts, and identification of tax issues.

  • Research changes in tax laws and regulations, model the impact on the organization, and determine the impact on income tax forms.

  • Support the company’s growth by integrating new acquisitions into tax compliance processes, including pre-acquisition returns, short-year tax return considerations, tax filing analysis, etc.

  • Maintain the company’s stock and partnership investments, including the maintenance of book and tax basis within a tax technology tool.

  • Support the outsourcing of the company’s tax depreciation computations, which includes coordinating information to be provided to the outsourcer, communicating deadlines, and reviewing deliverables.  

  • Assess the existing tax processes, identify areas for improvement, and develop and implement strategies to streamline tax processes, increase efficiency, and enhance accuracy.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including internal tax groups, finance teams, and division accounting groups, to understand their tax-related requirements to identify innovation opportunities, and share transformation ideas.

Qualifications:

Minimum

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 4 years of experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree in accounting and 2 years ‘experience in a related field.

  • Strong organizational, technical, written, and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to lead, manage and prioritize multiple assignments and projects; resolve complex tax issues; and consistently deliver a thorough and accurate work product with great attention to detail.

  • Highly motivated, self-starter with demonstrated performance as a team player.

  • Proficient with MS Office suite of products and tax software

Preferred

  • CPA

  • Public accounting experience

  • Experience with, investments, and acquisition related tax issues

  • OneSource experience
