Job purpose  

We are seeking a Senior Analyst of Financial Reporting and Consolidation to help set up our new Financial Reporting Center of Excellence to serve the company.   You will assist in ensuring timely and accurate US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) financial reporting and related disclosures.  This individual will help develop and set company standards and processes related to financial reporting.  S/he will also help to establish, modify, document, and implement reporting processes and control procedures for the company.  

The candidate should be self-motivated with an interest in developing financial reporting skills, and who is passionate about delivering quality results and driving continual improvement in a dynamic business environment.   The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and possess meticulous attention to detail.  The position requires a hands-on individual who is flexible, hard-working, and able to work well under pressure and deadlines.    

This person should be able to work both independently as well as collaboratively as part of a strategic team.  This individual should be comfortable working across the department as well as with the external auditors.  A high level of collaboration and coordination will be critical to the success of this individual.   

Duties and responsibilities  

  • Assists in areas related to the Company’s financial reporting, which include developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely completion of the financial statements.  

  • Assist in preparation and delivery of the Company’s quarterly and annual reports for the benefit of senior leadership, analysts, investors and other parties (as required). Complete a variety of financial reporting activities to support the timely preparation, review, production and distribution of external financial reports in accordance with established guidelines. Focus on timely completion of all group deliverables to internal and external clients, which includes quarterly and annual tasks, reporting, reporting for consolidation.  

  • Analyzes financial data to identify variances and develop meaningful explanations. 

  • Assist with financial reporting component of the external audit and work collaboratively with external auditors.  

  • Document and strive to implement reporting processes and control procedures related to the reporting function for the company. Collaborate to identify and implement advancements in reporting to ensure consistency and compliance with established standards.   

  • Collaborate and work across the business to ensure the integrity of the financials and sound reporting controls and procedures that result in accurate accounting, consolidation, and reporting.  Assist in development of processes to ensure that source data is reliable, complete and documentation is maintained to support data integrity.  

  • Contribute to financial reporting efforts for successful coordination and completion of ad hoc projects such as bond offerings, acquisitions, and dispositions.   

Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. To be a good fit for this opportunity you will also have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 3-5 years' experience 

  • MBA or Certified Public Accountant preferred 

  • Experience working directly with internal and external auditors  

  • Embraces change and able to professionally navigate through challenging situations  

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills  

  • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure  

  • Must be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional team members  

  • Maintain foundational understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in the United States of America (US GAAP) and other related guidelines, where applicable
