Cox Automotive is currently looking for a Senior Compensation Manager to join our team in Atlanta, Georgia This is a hybrid role and offers a flexible work-from-home/in-office schedule.  If you reside in the Atlanta area, you will go into the office at least 1 day/week. We will also consider candidates within a 3 hour driving distance from Atlanta. If you reside outside of the Atlanta area, you will go into the office at least 1-2 times/month.

The Role:

The Senior Compensation Manager will provide compensation consulting support to our Corporate functions, including Sales & Marketing.  In addition to providing analytical and support services to these groups, they will also develop and implement compensation programs, policies, and procedures.  They may manage a variety of special projects, to include non-exempt pay policies, pay administration, bonus administration, pay mix design, long-term incentives, and oversight of the compensation elements within Workday. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop creative solutions on a variety of total compensation issues including the setting of appropriate base pay levels, market pricing, skills trends, offer analysis, job evaluations, annual target incentive pay, and local bonus plans.

  • Lead projects related to the implementation of company-wide compensation programs and systems across the organization, including pay transparency, the year-end salary administration process and bonus payouts.

  • Complete market analytics to identify compensation anomalies in how Cox Automotive compares to market data.

  • Partner to educate Human Resources Business Partners (“HRBPs) on all matters of compensation (e.g., internal and external equity issues, competitive labor markets, and other rewards).

  • Work with communications partner and other Compensation team members to create messages that will advise and educate HRBPs and managers of our compensation events and programs.

  • Conduct various annual reviews including internal equity, merit movement, compa-ratio and other metrics for analysis, as needed.

  • Ensure all compensation programs are compliant with federal and state applicable laws and meet organizational business objectives.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of both federal and state wage and hour laws including FLSA.

  • Provide coaching/mentoring for more junior-level team members.

  • May lead or participate in special sales compensation projects.

  • May perform other initiatives as assigned by department leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline and 8 years’ related work experience.  The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and 6 years’ experience; a Ph.D. and 3 years’ experience in a related field; or 12 years’ experience in a related field.

  • Builds and maintains strong working relationships with HRBPs and key stakeholders.

  • Strong qualitative and analytical skills including manipulating data, querying, and reporting required.  Includes ability to analyze and research compensation trends and partner with appropriate internal and external resources.

  • Knowledge of industry practices and understanding of compensation principles, concepts, and practices including compliance with state and federal laws.

  • Self-motivated and driven individual that can work in a high performance, fast-paced team environment.

  • Excellent communication and analytical skills; able to conceptualize data as it relates to sales compensation, goal attainment, and achieving results; ability to interpret business objectives and successfully incorporate those into sales compensation terms.

  • Ability to interact with and influence senior executives to successfully deliver reporting results and recommendations related to compensation plan strategy, design or outcomes.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and data privacy.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CCP certification through World at Work or working towards a CCP certification.

  • Experience with Hourly employees, Executive Compensation, and/or Sales Compensation.

  • System experience including business process design, reporting and data management within a HRIS database system, e.g., Workday, PeopleSoft, Cascade.

  • System experience within a Time and Attendance database system, e.g., UKG Kronos, Dimensions, Workday.
