Root Cause Engineers

The Root Cause Engineer designs, installs, configures, implements, assesses, and supports all aspects of infrastructure environments, providing technical guidance and oversight and acting as a point of escalation and technical support for servicing batteries.  

This role considers a Root Cause Analysis work that is performed on sight at our Global HQ, as well as traveling scheduled to include field repairs as well .

Job and Responsibilities 

  • Perform root cause analysis on EV batteries and related components. 
  • Design and author engineering documents to describe root cause processes based on specific diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and other observable/measurable phenomena. 
  • Communicate assessments and findings in an organized and cohesive manner. 
  • Conduct on-sight field repairs at designated locations of the assigned market.
  • Manage travel and expense reports associated with on-sight field repairs.
  • Client facing skills to interface with customers and clients while being able to identify and consult on observed technical issues.


  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) plus 4 years of experience in engineering, mechanical engineering , electrical engineering , computer science, meteorology, physics, math, or chemistry. Alternatively, we strongly consider candidates with appropriate combined education and professional experience = 8 years.  
  • Proficient in Process Design/Validation, Process Documentation, Statistical Process Control, or Batteries. 
  • Proficient in physical and mechanical aspects of assembly and disassembly of components or complete systems.
  • Proficient with MS Office and Email. 
  • Must be self-motivated, with strong communication skills that can adapt to tasks in a dynamic work environment.  

Working Environment 

Variable, consisting of the office environment, the manufacturing floor, and some in field situations that require travel. Potential hazards include proximity of moving machinery, and exposure to High Voltage systems. The position may require an individual to stand, stoop, move equipment; bend, reach, or lift for prolonged periods of time. PPE includes Arc Flash safety equipment, safety glasses, hearing protection, and appropriate footwear for the working environment.
