Audio & Podcast Program Manager
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, a leading media voice in the south with a rich journalism history, has a small stable of podcasts, including its award-winning “Breakdown” podcast. We are seeking an entrepreneurial content leader and strategist to develop an expanded portfolio of compelling podcasts and successful consumer audio offerings.
The Audio & Podcast Program Manager will have broad responsibility for audio strategy and execution. They are expected to field content ideas, develop and test them; coordinate and incorporate feedback from market research; and ensure a consistent, high-quality audio experience that reflects the high standards of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s award-winning journalism. This person must be technically skilled, self-directed, highly motivated, detail-oriented, structured, innovative and display an incredible work ethic. This role will report to the Sr. Director of Digital Audience Experience.

In this position you will:

Work with leaders to develop and implement audio and podcast growth strategies (including development of new podcasts) resulting in increased listeners, downloads, and subscriptions

Have responsibility for end-to-end execution and management of all Atlanta Journal-Constitution podcasts and other audio offerings

Work with internal talent and reports to coach them toward success in tailoring their work to a listening audience

Work with our revenue and marketing teams to execute in-audio advertising and promotional campaigns

Author a consistent set of standards for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s audio products and experience

Manage internal discussions around creative, research, and strategy

Report to key stakeholders on podcast content performance, identify metrics that matter, and meet or exceed key performance indicators

Lead through influence rather than solely through authority.

Supervise producers, either contract and/or employees, along with processes to produce all products.
Qualifications:
What we expect you to have to be ready:

BA/BS with 6+ years and at least 1 year of leadership (MS with 4+ or Ph.D with at least 1 year or at least 10 years with no degree).

Experience working with podcasting, digital, and social media platforms

Experience with audio editing, engineering or other aspects of production

Demonstrated knowledge of the business of podcasting

Proficiency in audio design and audio mixing

Strong verbal, written skills and presentation skills
