Cox Automotive is hiring a Supervisor, Accounts Payable for an Enterprise Wide opportunity. The Supervisor, Accounts Payable (AP), is a critical position that oversees the delivery and support for Payment Processing, eCommerce Invoice Processing, Supplier Maintenance, Lease Administration, and Issue Resolution/Exception Handling. This position reports directly to the Senior Manager of Accounts Payable Corporate and will be responsible for enabling a high-performance culture within the Enterprise Finance & Accounting (EF&A) Accounts Payable functions. This position will also help to meet Cox Automotive’ s goals by coordinating objectives, collaborating with business stakeholders, and aligning appropriate resources.

The Supervisor is responsible for supporting Accounts Payable operations across all divisions encompassing AP transactional processing, AP Month End close, AP policy and procedures and compliance with and ensuring the effectiveness of our internal controls. Additionally, this position is responsible for proactive engagement with stakeholders throughout the business to support decisions and provide guidance regarding financial and accounting implications of business activities/decisions.  The Supervisor will lead the daily operational performance for a team of ~5-7 professionals, including adherence to Cox Automotive policies, process, data, reporting, systems security, compliance, and financial controls

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead a centralized Accounts Payable team with a staff 5-7 AP Senior Specialist and Specialists.

  • Provide leadership and oversight to ensure all AP processes such as Invoicing, Payments, and Vendor Master Data Management are completed timely and accurately while in compliance with policy and regulations.

  • Manage 3rd party AP system applications.

  • Monitor and manage team’s performance against benchmarks, targets, quality and reliability

  • Lead current and future AP system integration projects.  

  • Monitor and maintain key customer service and productivity metrics, including but not limited to SLA’s & KPI’s

  • Support internal/external audit efforts and responds to audit requests in a timely manner.

  • Create and sustain a culture of continuous improvement to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of accounting operations.

  • Partner with the Supply Chain & Continuous Process Improvement organizations to develop, update, and enhance solutions that drive positive results while maintaining a high level of data quality.


  • High School Diploma/GED required with 5+ years of experience in a related field. A candidate with a Bachelor’s degree (Accounting, Finance or Business preferred) will have 3+ years of experience. A candidate with a Master's Degree will have 1+ year of experience.

  • Experience with implementing and managing daily operational service levels

  • Proven track record in successfully leading high performing teams with tight deadlines and improving efficiencies

  • Proven ability to deliver high levels of customer service

  • Demonstrated communication capabilities with key stakeholders

  • Excellent oral and written communication is mandatory
