Sr. LabVIEW Developer

Electrical Engineer: Test Stand Development

Summary

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, for Cox Automotive, you will perform a variety of complex engineering duties to design, plan, and oversee the design and development of LabVIEW software applied to servicing EV batteries. 

Job and Responsibilities

  • Architect new test software with focus on delegating software tasks to other developers
  • Assign projects and sub-projects to other developers
  • Develop software templates and libraries for commonly used custom devices
  • Architect robust hardware abstraction layers
  • Upgrade old test stands to use common software and hardware architectures
  • Assist junior developers with coding, debugging, best practices, etc.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in engineering, computer science, meteorology, physics, math, or chemistry. Alternatively, we strongly consider candidates with appropriate combined education and professional experience
  • Certified LabVIEW Architect or equivalent experience
  • Experienced LabVIEW developer leading groups of developers
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
  • Proficient with MS Office suite and email
  • Must be self-motivated

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of different LabVIEW architectures: QMH, DQMH, Actor
  • Experience with CAN bus and serial communications
  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging hardware and software issues
  • Experience with Lithium and NiMH batteries
  • Experience with Github
  • Experience with PLC programming

Working Environment

Variable, consisting of both the office environment and the manufacturing floor. Potential hazards include proximity of moving machinery. The position may require an individual to stand, stoop, move equipment; bend, reach, or lift for prolonged periods of time. PPE includes safety glasses, hearing protection and sanitary footwear.
