Description

The Sourcing Manager is involved in leading the development and execution of the sourcing strategy for MRO, and Contingent Labor sourcing events. Responsibilities include executing the sourcing strategy, leading the sourcing process including market research and spend baselining, analyzing sourcing results, performing supplier capability assessments, selecting suppliers, and supporting the contracting process. In addition, the Sourcing Manager executes analytics to effectively track and report the performance of projects.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Supports execution of category strategies for Field Indirect categories, primarily Maintenance/Repair/Operations (MRO).
  • Responsible for the delivery and execution of strategic sourcing events and projects (RFx, direct negotiations, contract renewals, etc.) in accordance with SLAs, department standards, and business needs.
  • Sets the example for doing the right thing through personal and professional behaviors of honesty, integrity, and keeping commitments.
  • Responsible for delivering savings and helping achieve diversity spend through project outcomes and selection of diverse suppliers, while balancing the needs and desired business results of business and boundary partners.  Results and benefits are measured across financial and operational dimensions, including total cost of ownership, contract quality, and time to complete.
  • Develop and maintain category playbooks that act as “user guides” to ensure consistent communication and documented standards.
  • Host meetings with the business or stakeholders to review plans, gather information, advise, present best practices, or provide recommendations.
  • Utilize the 7-step sourcing and perform supplier negotiations when appropriate to develop supplier solutions.
  • Maintain market insights and keep informed on trends, conditions, and best practices.
  • Participate or lead cross functional teams.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (i.e. Supply Chain, Marketing, Business, Engineering, etc.) and 6 years’ experience in sourcing/procurement or 10 years’ experience in lieu of degree.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with the 7-step strategic sourcing process.
  • MRO sourcing experience (i.e. Office supplies, tools, spare parts, safety, Industrial equipment, packaging, material handling, uniforms, etc.).
  • Requires strong knowledge of Oracle P2P, eSourcing Suites, and MS Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, presentation, and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout the organization.
  • Requires solid analytical skills, reporting and finances, as well as a working knowledge of sourcing processes & best practices.

Preferred

  • MS degree + 4 years of experience preferred in a related discipline (i.e Supply Chain, Marketing, Business, Engineering, etc.); or Ph.D + 1 years of experience in a related discipline (i.e. Finance, Operations, Economics, etc.).
  • Experience in the telecommunications industry or automobile remarketing industry desired.
  • Prefer Project Management certification (PMP), ISM Certification, Lean or Six Sigma training.
  • Experience in tactical to strategic category transformation. 
  • Experience with sourcing MRO and related categories (e.g. Office supplies, office equipment, field equipment, security, warehouse equipment, etc.).
  • Experience with sourcing of Facility Services, Construction Services, Contingent Labor is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform equipment acquisition analysis (e.g., Total Cost of ownership, Lease vs buy analysis, capital budgeting, etc.).
  • Experience in Managing Group Purchase Organizations (GPO).
