A successful Senior Process Engineer will use process improvement experience to quantitatively assess current production/business system performance and execute change to reduce cost and optimize capacity.
This role demands excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a holistic understanding of manufacturing operations.
This role will focus on creative problem-solving and working cross-functionally (production, design, quality, finance, supply chain, demand, and production planning) to improve capacity, workstation design, and reduce downtime. A successful team member will have excellent critical and creative problem-solving skills focusing on issue resolution and inter-department engagement.
Extensive detailed analysis experience to make data-driven decisions and summarize results for management.
Perform data analysis for equipment and process buy-ins using DOEs, Gage R&Rs, and process capability studies.
Experience with discrete event simulation software (ARENA, Flex Sim, etc.)
Generate and maintain documentation, including machine and process specification, drawing, BOM, spare part, PFMEA, control plan, and process flow chart.
The candidate will be able to think at a systems level about the problems and provide improvements and operational strategies.
Hands-on person with development station requirements (work content, automated versus manual, buffering strategy, redundancy requirements, etc.)
Coordinate with other engineers and manage complete manufacturing line projects with multiple work centers.
Identify, quantify, compare, and execute production process improvements to drive safety and ergonomics, quality (first pass yield), availability (uptime), performance (cycle time variability), capital utilization, and demand attainment
Oversees and assesses existing processes and workflows in place.
Evaluate data to implement improvements in production processes.
Creation of reporting documentation for processing status and changes.
Tracks metrics to discover areas for improvement and monitor upgrades.
Provides thorough instructions for the successful implementation of process changes.
Design facility layout and personnel requirements for production operations.
May perform other required assignments and travel 15 to 20 % as needed.
Process Engineer Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree plus 7 years of Industrial , Manufacturing, or mechanical engineering experience or an equivalent combination of experience and educations.
- Experience introducing new production lines and processes into a production environment within timelines.
- Good understanding of manufacturing equipment systems (PLCs, robots, Autonomous systems)
- BS or MS Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and/or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of / experience with SQL is preferred, R / Python is a plus
- Experience with automated manufacturing lines and robotics is a plus
