We’re hiring a Senior Director of Cloud Engineering to oversee our Cloud Engineering group at RapidScale, part of the Cox family of businesses. In this role, you’ll spearhead public and private cloud deployments and ensure the development, implementation and maintenance of cloud-based systems, software, and applications.

What You’ll Do  

You’ll help us unlock unprecedented scalability, security, and agility in our cloud infrastructure. Here’s more on what you’ll be doing:

  • Contribute to and implement our long-term strategy for cloud engineering and related functions.
  • Collaborate with leaders to turn business processes into impactful implementation designs.
  • Drive seamless integration, continuous deployment tooling and technical practices across the organization.
  • Research areas where new technology can solve upcoming business problems.
  • Keep a pulse on business and product trends to anticipate future tech needs.
  • Lead a team of approximately six senior manager or director-level leaders.
  • Own an annual reporting roadmap and communicate cloud engineering initiatives across the business.
  • Serve as tactical relationship manager between Cloud Engineering and other technical teams and business stakeholders.

Who You Are  

You’re a strategic thinker who knows how to build partnerships across an enterprise. You’re also an empathetic leader who will build confidence and expertise within your own teams. Here’s what else you bring to the table:

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (I.e. cloud technologies) and 12 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 10 years’ experience; a Ph.D. and 7 years’ experience in a related field; or 16 years’ experience in a related field
  • 7+ years’ experience in a management or leadership role
  • Experience successfully leading teams through significant change, whether it’s navigating through an organizational restructuring or merger and acquisition activity.
  • Experience with modern (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and traditional (IaaS, DaaS, Networking and Microsoft Services) IT technologies.
  • The ability to set challenging short- and long-term goals and motivate your team to overcome obstacles and achieve exceptional results.
  • The ability to carefully analyze organizational issues, determine the root cause and propose alternative solutions.
  • Experience developing and supporting teams and leaders, and building a sense of ownership in generating ideas, making decisions, obtaining resources, and overcoming barriers.

Preferred:

  • An MBA and/or other industry certifications in cloud technologies.
  • Experience working in a growth-stage startup or Agile environment.
  • A “people-first” leadership style.
