Job Description

Senior Software Engineer positions offered by Cox Automotive Corporate Services, LLC (Dallas, TX). Write and maintain code within applications and systems to implement capabilities and features, improve performance and maintainability, while reducing technical debt in alignment with product and technology roadmaps.  Play a role in Agile planning, providing advice and guidance, and monitoring emerging trends.  Work with Product Management to understand the challenges that customers and end users face in their day-to-day work and partner with them to design viable solutions.  Foresee capacity requirements for component usage and identify limitations.  Provide input into story sizing, backlog grooming, and release planning.  Contribute to product and solution designs to address critical issues and complex problems.  Build software applications across multiple platforms in response to the needs of stakeholders.  Understand and create technical architecture and write software and automated tests that are aligned with agreed upon standards.  Perform advanced troubleshooting and investigations when there is a need to resolve issues with client impact.

Minimum Requirements

Requires a bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field and 4 years of experience in the position offered or 4 years of experience designing, developing, and implementing highly scalable, high-volume software and system components, client-facing web applications, and major Internet-oriented applications and systems.  Also requires 4 years of experience: realizing applications from conception through design and from implementation through support; coding within multiple technology stacks on the front-end and back-end; using application lifecycle methodologies; and using database technologies. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree and 4 years of experience, the employer will accept a master’s or foreign equivalent degree in the aforementioned fields and 2 years of experience as stated, or a Ph.D. or foreign equivalent degree in the aforementioned fields and experience or graduate-level coursework as stated. Position reports to office in Dallas, TX.  Position may work from home, but must live within commuting distance of stated office.
