Description
The Title & Records Specialist II position will be responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of vehicle titles by verifying title information is correct, accurately reassigning and releasing titles to clients, and interacting with clients and regulatory agencies to resolve title issues. Additional responsibilities will include knowledge of departmental policies and procedures for title release and follow-up on titles.
Job Responsibilities:
• Review titles for negotiability, sign and reassign titles for sellers and buyers.
• Complete application for new title on behalf of clients as needed.
• Complete repossession affidavits as needed.
• Complete affidavit of corrections as needed.
• Answer communications from all clients on title questions and issues to resolution, escalating if necessary.
• Troubleshoot and resolve title issues on behalf of all clients according to state specific
title requirements.
• Communicate effectively with BMV/DMV agencies.
• Monitor aging of titles following departmental procedures and policies.
• Process documents received from clients to complete title follow-up.
• Assess and determine proper outcomes for title release requests.
• Post charges to unit for state work
• Submit check requests for state work through Oracle
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in the auction/automobile industry or at the Department of Motor Vehicles. (Titles experience specifically)
- OR the right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline and up to 1 year of experience.
- OR 5 years’ experience in a related field
- Previous vehicle title experience and title handling is required.
- Must have strong organizational skills and be very detail oriented.
- Ability to type and use 10-key proficiently required.
- Effective communication skills and strong customer service attitude is required.
- Ability to recognize title brands and other relevant notations related to titles is a requirement.
- Willingness to become an Indiana Notary is desired
Drug Testing:
To be employed in this role, you'll need to clear a pre-employment drug test. Cox Automotive does not currently administer a pre-employment drug test for marijuana for this position. However, we are a drug-free workplace, so the possession, use or being under the influence of drugs illegal under federal or state law during work hours, on company property and/or in company vehicles is prohibited.
Compensation:
Hourly base pay rate is $17.40 - $26.06/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
Benefits:
Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, parental leave, and COVID-19 vaccination leave.
