Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the preparation of the insurance premium budget allocations of all lines of insurance coverage.
  • Attend various meetings with brokers, actuaries, TPAs, department team members (insurance, claims, risk control and environmental) and division contacts
  • Assists in gathering, assembling, and disseminating information for insurance renewals.
  • Assist with day-to-day customer service activities including obtaining certificates of insurance, surety bonds, and other customer needs.
  • Assist with day to day activity related to department’s claims database (IRM) – monthly updates, quality checks, of data, and distribution of regular monthly loss reports.
  • Assist with special projects involving improvements and enhancements to risk management’s various databases.
  • Assist with risk management ad hoc projects as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Management, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field with at least a 3.0 GPA.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to adapt to a changing environment and learn new technologies.

Intern/Co-Op sessions are considered temporary employment. No full-time employment commitments are made. However, depending on our business needs, some interns may be considered for a full-time position following the conclusion of the session conditioned upon the intern graduating from their academic program and being available to commence full-time employment at a specified time.

Compensation:

Hourly base pay rate is $21.06 - $31.63/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
