The Senior Leader of Fraud Strategy, Operations, & Compliance leads the conception, development, and delivery of best practices for fraud prevention, detection, investigation, and remediation. He/she will build and govern a direct and indirect report team charged with developing, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive anti-fraud and compliance program for Cox’s Cable business and its newly introduced Cox Mobile wireless offering. This will include owning and partnering on fraud prevention strategy, investigations, revenue compliance, wireless credit and fraud controls, customer information security, and data analytics to mitigate internal and external risk exposure. He/she will leverage their expertise and capabilities across the broader functional areas and collaborate with other business functions to increase external and internal fraud prevention and compliance effectiveness. He/she will ensure horizontal alignment of anti-fraud and compliance practices across Customer Experience, Sales, Product, Legal, Corporate Security, Internal Audit, etc. The Senior Leader of Fraud Strategy, Operations, and Compliance will also provide outside perspectives on minimizing and mitigating risk in Cable and Mobile businesses.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and drive the implementation of the overall fraud prevention and compliance strategy for Cox Cable and Cox Mobile aligned with industry leading practices
  • Build a risk management framework and organization that supports the cable and wireless businesses in the areas of fraud protection, internal processes, analytical frameworks, and governance
  • Guide and assist in the implementation of sound and effective fraud and compliance processes and monitoring across business functions
  • Provide counsel on fraud cases and fraud management related policies, ensuring an independent review of policy compliance
  • Develop the risk management ecosystem, tools, and infrastructure to support the overall fraud prevention and compliance strategy and partner with IT/Technology stakeholders to implement
  • Partner cross-functionally to develop a comprehensive identity management strategy for the cable and wireless businesses
  • Lead the vendor selection and contract negotiations for risk and fraud management partner network and integration – serving as the primary liaison for vendor management
  • Work with the Cox Finance and Receivables Management organizations to develop comprehensive credit & collections controls and processes for cable and wireless business management
  • Establish the risk management analytics and KPIs to monitor fraud activities and enable fast decision making
  • Responsible for leveraging data analytics, data science, and machine learning tools and models in detecting and preventing fraud and determining process and methodology to mitigate risks

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of leadership experience in fraud prevention, operations, and compliance
  • 3+ years of experience managing corporate or enterprise risk functions within the wireless industry
  • 3+ years of experience leading a fraud or risk management organization
  • 3+ years of experience in establishing operational strategies in highly matrixed organizations
  • Deep expertise in Wireless industry anti-fraud strategy and operations
  • Extensive knowledge of operational, governance, information security, enterprise, market and credit risk
  • Demonstrated success in applying data analytics and data science tools and techniques to detect, monitor, and prevent fraud
  • Ability to interact with and influence senior management
  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to solving and preventing problems
  • Executive leadership skills to direct and lead teams comprised of skilled professionals
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong combination of knowledge in complex financial transactions with an understanding of methods, law, and how to resolve allegations of fraud
  • Ability to develop and deliver clear and meaningful communications about the organization’s vision and values to drive aligned decision making and actions
  • Ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with senior-level executives in matrixed, highly consensus driven culture
  • Ability to build strong working relationships internally across functions and externally with vendors
  • Ability to translate multiple strategic priorities into effective implementation by assigning clear authority and accountability, coordinating communications, monitoring progress, creating plans that align processes and resources

  • BS/BA degree in related discipline strongly desired (i.e. Business, Operations, Risk Management, etc.)
  • CFE (certified fraud examiner) designation preferred
