Automotive Technician II
Starting pay $35/hr
Eligible for a $5,000 Sign On Bonus $2,500 after completing 30 days with Manheim and $2,500 after completing 180 days with Manheim
The road of life has lots of twists and turns, and our Automotive Technicians are the torque wrench-wielding surgeons for everything on four wheels who keep it moving smoothly. What You’ll Do
Working solo or with a team, you’ll maintain and repair vehicles for Manheim to make them look and run like new. Remember that “loves people” thing? Well, that’s because you’ll be delivering exceptional service to customers, and mastering the fine art of balance (not just wheels, but wallets) as you mindfully manage costs to keep customers satisfied and our margins within the white lines. Here’s a list of some of the key responsibilities that accompany this job:
● Perform preventive maintenance and “health checks” on vehicles –
everything from changing oil, oil filter, fuel filter, & transmission flushes, to
inspecting vehicles for mechanical flaws. The car doctor is IN.
● Troubleshoot and repair complex hydraulic systems, generators, and
electrical systems, hybrids, and on-board computer systems on
● Depending upon your certification level, you may perform various repairs
and maintenance that involve (you ready for this list?): OBD II systems,
brake components, tires, tune-ups, suspension components, aerial lifts,
electrical systems, state safety Inspections, interior/exterior components,
engine and drive line components, and bumper stickers. (Okay, we made
up the bumper sticker part.)
● You may be asked to repair and maintain shop equipment, because
you’re good like that.
● You’ll be expected to know and follow all safety procedures.
● You’ll need to create and maintain vehicle histories and maintenance
records. You may even up fit vehicles with necessary equipment, and
even provide custom equipment when needed by engaging in equipment
design and moderate fabrication tasks including welding.
● You’ll assure prompt repairs by working with vendors for parts and
repairs, and from time to time, you may even perform roadside

You’re cool behind the wheel of any kind of ride, and take great care with how you drive. You’re comfortable with all the rigors that come with working on a vehicle – outdoors and in the elements — and believe that the best way to raise your game is to take advantage of training opportunities as they roll your way.
● High school diploma or GED (or 3+ years of related work experience
servicing vehicles instead of the degree).
● 3+ years vehicle service and repair experience.
● Ability to drive standard and automatic transmission vehicles.
● Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
● Continue training to maintain current A.S.E. status and to meet with
technology and fleet changes as they occur.
● Requires some A.S.E. Automotive or Truck Certification or other related
● Frequently required to stand, walk, reach, talk, hear, stoop, bend, kneel,
crouch, squat, climb, and tolerate excess noise levels, car exhaust and
outdoor weather conditions.
● Vision requirements: close, distance and color vision, depth perception
and ability to adjust focus.
