1. Customize your resume and cover letter for each position, making sure to highlight relevant skills, experiences and qualifications.

2. Make sure you meet the minimum requirements of the role you’re pursuing, and that your resume clearly reflects your relevant experience.

3. Don’t list every single work experience you’ve ever had if it’s not relevant to the job you’re applying for.

4. Use bullet points instead of long paragraphs to list your accomplishments.

5. Start bullet points with action verbs to make your accomplishments stand out.

6. Use caution when using a resume template. Triple-check to make sure all the fields have been updated.

7. Review your resume, cover letter and online application for any spelling or grammatical mistakes.

8 ways to ace your job interview

1. Research the company’s culture and history and the role you’re applying for.

2. Know your “elevator pitch”: a brief, clear summary of who you are, your skills and why you’re a great fit for the role.

3. Prepare examples of your work and past experiences that demonstrate your skills and qualifications.

4. Practice answering common interview questions.

5. Treat the interview as a two-way conversation and show your interest by asking thoughtful questions.

6. Follow up with a thank-you email after an interview.

7. Be professional but let your authentic personality shine through.

8. If applicable, share any extra materials like work samples or a portfolio that showcases your abilities.

Tips for navigating the hiring process:

1. Understand that the hiring team may take time to discuss all candidates before making a decision.

2. Stay patient and follow up politely if you haven’t heard back within the expected timeframe.

3. Use the job application portal to check your application status.
