Cox Enterprises is seeking a Group Account Director, Environmental Advocacy & Marketing to join our Partnerships team in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Role:

Cox Ideabar, an integrated brand, creative, and media marketing center for creativity, is seeking a Group Account Director to shape powerful brand stories for the newly formed Environmental Advocacy & Marketing department. Our ideal candidate is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing high-impact relationships and integrated marketing engagements who has a true passion for our environment and the role we play in keeping wild places wild. This role will oversee the portfolio of relationships and associated integrated marketing scopes for Environmental Advocacy & Marketing, while also stewarding external agency relationships and associated integrated marketing scopes.

Responsibilities:

Partner Leadership & Relationship Management

  • Build extraordinary relationships with the entire Environmental Advocacy & Marketing department by serving as a trusted marketing advisor and demonstrating sound judgment and business acumen.

  • Monitor partner satisfaction through quantitative and qualitative feedback.

  • Collaborate with partnership team colleagues to advance partner satisfaction, retention, and growth.

  • Gather and communicate partner insights to the broader team to enhance the partner experience.

  • Support partner conflict resolution and maintain open communication with partnership teams and functional leaders.

  • Work closely with Business Operations and Creative Project Management teams to ensure scoped projects are executed on time and within budget, and that SOWs are clear, concise, and equitable across the business — including defining deliverables, outlining assumptions and responsibilities, and establishing change‑management and approval protocols.

Integrated Marketing Leadership

  • Architect end-to-end marketing strategies including full-funnel campaigns that align with partner business goals.

  • Negotiate statements of work and fee arrangements for new engagements led by Environmental Advocacy & Marketing, but on behalf of partner brands such as Loop Tackle and Kuiu.

  • Lead RFP responses and develop strategic recommendations in partnership with subject matter experts.

  • Ensure seamless transitions of new engagements to the broader partnerships team.

Enterprise Strategy & Growth

  • Identify, evaluate, and articulate opportunities for Cox Ideabar to drive impact and growth across the enterprise

  • Develop strategies for growth and actively pursue new opportunities for the Environmental Advocacy & Marketing team.

  • Extend perspective and knowledge of real-time business results to inform new business approaches and needed supporting materials (e.g., case studies, pitch decks).

  • Represent Cox Ideabar in high-level executive meetings, partner meetings, and industry events.

Operational Excellence & Capability Stewardship

  • Own storytelling of the Cox Ideabar’s capabilities, including narrative development, supporting assets, and executive presentations.

  • Evaluate new vendor and agency partners to enhance media service offerings.

  • Maintain up-to-date financial forecasting and billing for new engagements.

  • Provide talent evaluation and recommendations to senior leadership based on partner feedback.

  • Ensure best practices and conformance with agency policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 8+ years of experience working in the industry preferably at advertising agencies or in-house creative/media centers of excellence. A candidate may also have a Master's Degree with 6+ years of experience or a Ph.D. with 3+ years of experience. A non-degreed candidate will have 12+ years of experience.

  • Passion for the outdoors, conservation initiatives, and revitalizing our environment through advocacy and marking campaigns.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with conservation and sustainability brands and/or work.

  • Prior experience with global policy and/or advocacy work.

  • Strategic creative, brand, and media experience with digital marketing expertise, including prior experience stewarding work across the following formats: Website, Video, Events & Experiences, Print, and Grassroots/Community Activation.

  • Proficiency in storytelling to enhance partner trust and satisfaction.

  • Expertise in providing strategic guidance and advice to partners.

  • Experience with offline and online integrated marketing campaigns.

  • Forward-thinking and innovative approach to strategic concepts and cross-disciplinary work.

  • Strong problem-solving, judgment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to navigate fast paced and ever-shifting landscapes and continue to define and refine overall approach.

  • Excellent people and influence management skills.

  • Proven track record of managing complex partner relationships and working across interdisciplinary teams.

  • Self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills.

  • Clear, persuasive presentation style.

  • Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Strong organizational, account, and project management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Analytical and strategic problem-solving abilities.

Compensation:

Compensation includes a base salary in the range of $122,600.00 - $204,400.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Benefits:

The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company’s needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
