The Van Crew Lead is responsible for safely and efficiently leading vehicle movement operations through the auction process, from vehicle entry to sale lane. This role provides on-lane leadership, ensures adherence to safety standards, coordinates with jumpers and drivers, and supports a positive customer and team experience while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
Lead vehicle movement operations on assigned sale lanes, including coordinating jump-starts and directing drivers through the auction block.
Ensure safe, efficient movement of vehicles in varying weather conditions throughout the entire shift.
Actively identify, report, and correct safety hazards; model and enforce safe operating practices at all times.
Perform routine checks of equipment and work areas and recommend safety and process improvements.
Provide day-to-day leadership, support, and constructive feedback to crew members while promoting teamwork and accountability.
Maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail; utilize checklists and verification processes to minimize errors.
Support customer experience by identifying service barriers, communicating concerns, and helping resolve operational issues.
Manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing operational demands to meet productivity and service goals.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable legal or regulatory requirements.
Take ownership of outcomes, learn from mistakes, and continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and performance.
Qualifications
Minimum
High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field.
OR the right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline.
OR 5 years’ experience in a related field
“Safe drivers needed; valid driver’s license required.”
Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
Basic mechanical knowledge of identifying (i.e., flat tires, low gas, jump-starting vehicles.)
Preferred
6 months of auction or driving experience preferred
Required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear, vision abilities required to include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
Ability to lift 1-15 pounds.
Must be able to walk long distances.
Work Environment
Constant exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Moderate noise level (100% outdoors)
Knowledge of lot operations/lot layout preferred.
Knowledge of LDM preferred.

Compensation:
Hourly pay rate is in the range of $18.17 - $27.21/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
Benefits:
Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
