The Lot Driver is responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely movement of vehicles throughout the lot and between designated locations to support auction operations. This role is an individual contributor who plays a critical part in maintaining workflow, vehicle organization, and overall operational efficiency while adhering to strict safety standards.
Work Schedule:
Monday & Tuesday 7:30 am-3:30 pm, Wednesday 7:30 am-5 pm, Thursday 7 am-4 pm, Friday 8 am-3 pm
Pay rate: $20.37 per hr.
Key Responsibilities
Safely operate and transport vehicles between lot locations, sale lanes, and designated areas in accordance with company policies.
Maintain consistent vehicle flow to support auction readiness, ensuring vehicles are positioned accurately and on schedule.
Follow all established safety procedures and immediately report hazards, damage, or unsafe conditions.
Conduct basic visual inspections of vehicles before and after movement, noting and reporting any existing or new damage.
Navigate lot environments with high attention to surroundings, including pedestrians, other drivers, and equipment.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, lane leaders, and team members to coordinate vehicle movement and priorities.
Adapt to changing priorities and workload demands in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Support overall lot organization and cleanliness as needed to maintain operational efficiency.
Complete assigned tasks with a high degree of accuracy, accountability, and attention to detail.
Qualifications & Skills
Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a wide variety of vehicles (automatic and manual preferred, if applicable).
Strong commitment to safety and adherence to operational procedures.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Good situational awareness and decision-making skills in a dynamic environment.
Reliable attendance and time management skills.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Requires standing and walking for extended periods throughout the entire shift.
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.).
Frequent entry and exit of vehicles and continuous movement across the lot.
Must be able to safely operate vehicles for prolonged periods.
Drug Testing:
To be employed in this role, you'll need to clear a pre-employment drug test. Cox Automotive does not currently administer a pre-employment drug test for marijuana for this position. However, we are a drug-free workplace, so the possession, use or being under the influence of drugs illegal under federal or state law during work hours, on company property and/or in company vehicles is prohibited.
Compensation:
Hourly pay rate is $20.37. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
Benefits:
Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
