The Remarketing Specialist (Product Operations Manager) is responsible for a portfolio of Meridian vehicles exceeding $100M on an annual basis and manages the operational workflow, including resale decisioning, of all vehicles in their assigned territory through various physical and digital remarketing channels. This position will work directly with auction leadership and team members to maximize vehicle prices and liquidate inventory in an effective and timely manner. In addition to driving increased vehicle value and quick inventory turns, they will provide operational guidance and onsite representation to aid in the overall growth of Meridian’s brand and market share. They will work closely with Meridian leadership to identify opportunities to help mitigate loss. A successful candidate will establish a strong working relationship with both their internal/external auction partners.
Primary Duties/Key Responsibilities
Support established remarketing strategy and identify market-specific opportunities to help increase vehicle retention. Maximize net sale proceeds by analyzing and interpreting vehicle condition, vehicle characteristics and market sales data
Evaluate and manage the operational flow of vehicle inventory at each assigned location to minimize the resale losses. This will be accomplished through direct communication with auction personnel/management and the use of score cards and auction performance metrics.
Establish and maintain relationships with senior management at assigned auction locations as well as with auction team members responsible for Meridian account operations
Train and instruct auction personnel on processes and procedures for handling Meridian vehicle inventory
Use applicable tools to understand valuation of automotive assets as well as market trends
Assess vehicle condition, research relevant vehicle history and analyze market data to set vehicle floor prices
Represent Meridian inventory at physical auction locations when appropriate
Inspect vehicles prior to being offered for sale to evaluate cosmetic/mechanical condition
Ensure compliance of assigned locations with Meridian SOPs and fees
Identify changes in market conditions and communicate their impact on used car wholesale values back to Meridian leadership
Identify reconditioning and relocation opportunities to maximize investment yield. This includes non-Manheim sales channels
Seek to improve efficiencies by initiating and sharing ideas for process and quality improvements
Networks with peers and other experts in the wholesale automotive industry to maintain a deep understanding of market conditions and remarketing trends
Perform any other duties assigned
Required Experience & Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 6 years of experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and 4 years of experience or 10 years’ experience in a related field
Extensive knowledge of the automotive space and automotive remarketing industry processes and trends
Excellent organizational skills with ability to handle multiple priorities
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills required

Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary in the range of $92,300.00 - $153,900.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
