Duties:
Manage and provide direction to a team of mobile fleet technicians, providing strong, hands-on leadership to drive both people development and business performance in a growing market. Meet one-on-one with direct reports to provide coaching and mentoring and help them find solutions.
Establish a high-performance, engaged team culture through ongoing coaching, mentoring, and career development conversations.
Take ownership of market-level performance, including productivity, customer satisfaction, and revenue growth, while identifying and pursuing new service opportunities.
Retrieve, review, and monitor metrics, reports, process documentation, customer service logs, and/or training or safety records to drive continuous improvement and scalable operations.
Act as a local market leader, identifying opportunities to expand customer relationships and improve service penetration within an untapped or developing territory.
Travel to technician and customer locations frequently to help strengthen relationships, ensure quality, and uncover growth opportunities.
Participate in and/or lead regular meetings with market team members across functions such as dispatch, parts, and billing to align operational execution with market growth strategy.
Monitor operations to ensure compliance with administrative, DOT, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards while maintaining operational excellence.
Perform onboarding activities for technicians, such as requesting equipment or tools and company-issued service trucks, completing all forms of new hire documentation, and/or providing access to various company systems to ensure all have resources, tools, and equipment they need to complete their work safely and effectively while maintaining operational excellence.
Lead onboarding and ramp-up of new technicians to support market expansion and capacity growth.
Conduct safety audits and Quality Control Inspections (QCIs) to reinforce a strong safety and performance culture.
Assist in the development of and adherence to a monthly budget, with accountability for financial performance and cost management within the market.
Partner with leadership to define and execute market-specific growth strategies, including customer acquisition, retention, and service expansion.
Collaborate with Client Services and sales teams to ensure technicians are fully utilized while maximizing revenue-generating opportunities.
Assign and coordinate work to ensure responsiveness to customer needs and efficient service delivery.
Champion the company’s safety culture by leading meetings and reinforcing adherence to safety processes.
Provide operational guidance to team members, promoting best practices and consistent execution
Serve as a primary liaison between Cox Fleet and our clients, building trust, identifying needs, and delivering tailored solutions.
Facilitate cross-functional communication and problem-solving to support both operational execution and market growth.
Monitor inventory levels and ensure technicians have the resources needed to support scaling operations.
Recruit, interview, and hire technicians to build a strong, capable team aligned with growth objectives.
Work cross-functionally with HR, Parts/Procurement, Fleet Management, IT, and other teams to support business expansion.
Operate a company-issued vehicle to travel within the market.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 6 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and 4 years’ experience; a Ph.D. and one (1) years’ experience in a related field; or 10 years’ experience in a related field.
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a people leadership role, with a strong track record of developing teams and driving performance.
Safe drivers needed and 3 YR MVR review required; Candidate must hold a valid state-of-residence driver’s license, be able to obtain and maintain their Driver Qualification File
Due to interstate operating authority commerce regulations, candidates must be at least 21 years or older.

Drug Testing:
To be employed in this role, you'll need to clear a pre-employment drug test. Cox Automotive does not currently administer a pre-employment drug test for marijuana for this position. However, we are a drug-free workplace, so the possession, use or being under the influence of drugs illegal under federal or state law during work hours, on company property and/or in company vehicles is prohibited.
Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary in the range of $89,400.00 - $134,000.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company’s needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
