Our Data & Analytics team partners closely with business stakeholders to deliver trusted data, analytics, and insights that support operational and strategic decision-making. We design, build, and maintain a modern data warehouse that serves as the foundation for reporting, analytics, and data-driven solutions across our line of business.
We are seeking a Data Engineer I to join our team and help develop scalable data solutions that transform raw data into actionable insights. This role is ideal for someone early in their data engineering career who wants hands-on experience with modern cloud technologies, AI-assisted development workflows, and data warehousing practices, working alongside experienced engineers, analysts, and business partners to build pipelines, enhance our Data Vault-based warehouse, and deliver high-quality data assets.
What You'll Do
- Build, test, and maintain data pipelines that ingest, transform, and deliver data from operational and third-party source systems.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of our Data Vault-based data warehouse.
- Develop and optimize ELT processes using modern cloud data platforms and transformation tools.
- Partner with analysts and business stakeholders to translate data requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Monitor and improve data quality, reliability, and performance across warehouse and reporting solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, testing activities, and technical design discussions.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for data flows, transformations, and business rules.
- Support production processes and assist in troubleshooting data-related issues.
- Use AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code as part of daily engineering work — pipeline development, code review, testing, and documentation.
- Continuously learn and apply emerging technologies, tools, and engineering best practices.

Our team delivers the data foundation that enables analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision-making across the business. We build and maintain a Data Vault-based warehouse that integrates data from numerous operational systems and provides trusted, analytics-ready data to stakeholders across the organization.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Analytics, Mathematics, or a related technical field, and up to 2 years of experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination — for example, a master's degree and internship experience, or equivalent practical experience demonstrating the required capabilities.
- Experience writing and troubleshooting SQL queries.
- Understanding of relational database concepts, including tables, joins, keys, and normalization.
- Foundational knowledge of data integration, ETL/ELT, or data warehousing concepts.
- Experience with a programming or scripting language such as Python, SQL, PowerShell, or similar.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and adapt to changing business and technical requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship, co-op, academic project, or professional experience related to data engineering, analytics, software engineering, or business intelligence.
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS or Microsoft Azure.
- Familiarity with Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, or other cloud-based data platforms.
- Experience using dbt or similar data transformation frameworks.
- Understanding of data warehousing methodologies, including Data Vault, dimensional modeling, or star schema design.
- Experience developing or supporting data pipelines and data integration processes.
- Familiarity with source control systems such as Git, GitHub, or Azure DevOps.
- Exposure to CI/CD concepts and modern software development practices.
- Experience with analytics and reporting tools such as Power BI.
- Relevant certifications in Microsoft Azure, AWS, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, or related technologies.

Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary in the range of $67,100.00 - $100,700.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
