Job Description:
Ensures all body repairs and paint work meet company, OEM, and customer quality standards before vehicles are released from the body and paint department. Performs detailed inspections throughout the repair process to identify defects, verify repair quality, and promote continuous improvement in shop operations.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct final quality inspections on all completed body and paint repairs prior to vehicle delivery.
- Verify all repairs meet company quality standards, OEM specifications, safety requirements, and customer expectations.
- Inspect body repairs for proper panel alignment, fit and finish, and overall workmanship.
- Evaluate paint work for color match, texture consistency, gloss level, dirt inclusions, runs, sags, overspray, and other paint defects.
- Document inspection findings and communicate to technicians and shop leadership.
- Maintain accurate quality control records and inspection reports.
- Collaborate with technicians and management to resolve quality issues efficiently.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce rework and improve first-time quality.
- Participate quality review walks to ensure consistent standards across all repairs.
- Report trends related to workmanship, materials, equipment, or process deficiencies that may impact quality or customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- High School or GED Preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in an auto body or reconditioning work, or as a quality control inspector, preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License and safe driving record required.
- Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmissions.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
- Must be detail-oriented.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk, and hear.
- Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, and climb. Ability to lift 1-15 pounds.
- Vision abilities required include close, distance, and color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions.
- Occasional exposure to outdoor weather, moving mechanical parts, electrical shock hazard, fumes, dust, and odors. Moderate noise level.

Compensation:
Hourly pay rate is in the range of $16.59 - $24.86/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
Benefits:
Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
