As a Detail Technician I, you’ll help prepare vehicles for sale by cleaning, detailing and inspecting them to meet auction-ready standards. What You’ll Do
In this role, you’ll transform vehicles from arrival to auction ready. You will:
- Clean, detail and restore vehicle interiors and exteriors using professional tools, equipment and cleaning products.
- Perform deep-cleaning tasks, including washing, vacuuming, shampooing, polishing and detailing all vehicle interiors, exteriors, engines, wheels and trim.
- Prepare vehicles for sale by removing non-essential items, organizing materials (such as owner’s manuals) and completing final quality inspections.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
- Assist with moving and staging vehicles, including driving vehicles within the auction area as needed.

Minimum Requirements
- A valid driver’s license and safe driving record
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior work experience in an automotive, auction or related operational setting
- High school diploma/GED
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and hold at least 30 pounds at the waist level for an extended period of time
- Ability to stand, walk, talk and hear in a variety of environments
- Ability to crouch, bend and kneel to inspect side or underside of vehicles

Drug Testing:
To be employed in this role, you'll need to clear a pre-employment drug test. Cox Automotive does not currently administer a pre-employment drug test for marijuana for this position. However, we are a drug-free workplace, so the possession, use or being under the influence of drugs illegal under federal or state law during work hours, on company property and/or in company vehicles is prohibited.
Compensation:
Hourly pay rate is in the range of $15.10 - $22.60/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
Benefits:
Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
