A Career in Motion: 20 Years as a Changemaker at Cox

There’s a way of thinking about careers that treats success like a ladder: up, up, up. But for Tish Harrison, more than two decades at Cox have shown her that growth often happens in every direction.

Over the years, Tish explored nearly every corner of the company: from enterprise finance to strategy and competitive intelligence, and from marketing and operations to mergers and acquisitions that helped define the company’s growth. She moved across divisions, functions and industries, building range instead of just rank.

“You just wouldn’t get that kind of holistic experience in a lot of places,” Tish said.

Inspired by her mother’s belief that “if you want to go after it, believe in yourself,” Tish consistently raised her hand for new challenges and embraced the leaps that came with them. She came to see adaptability as one of the most valuable skills a leader can develop, and each new role became an opportunity to stretch, learn and view the business through a broader lens.

That breadth now shapes how she leads at the highest level as CFO of Segra, part of the Cox family of businesses. Along the way, she also deepened her impact as a board member of the Atlanta Women’s Foundation, supporting opportunities for women and girls in her community.

Looking back, Tish describes herself as “a little spoiled” by the culture of support and investment she found at Cox.

“I have friends who work in other companies, and when we talk about our experiences and our cultures, I definitely get the feedback that this is a special place,” Tish said. “It makes you really proud to work for a company like Cox when you see that we do what we say.”
