The Manheim Mobile Inspections Supervisor reports to the Manager and is responsible for the effective leadership and supervision of a team of Mobile Inspectors in a specified geographic territory. The Supervisor’s primary focus is to ensure inspection quality and drive operational efficiency with a team of 10 to 15+ Mobile Inspectors while maintaining a culture of operational excellence and accountability.
The Supervisor assists with operational matters concerning the mobile inspections, new car inspections, and floorplan audits in a designated area. The Supervisor will ensure that inspections and floorplan audits performed within the assigned territory meet quality, productivity and safety objectives.
The Supervisor is responsible for the recruiting, hiring, onboarding and training of Mobile Inspectors within their assigned area. The Supervisor is also responsible for the ongoing performance management of the team using Lean Daily Management, remote and field based audits, and the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives within the team. The Supervisor will also build and maintain relationships with boundary partners in the assigned area including: auctions, sales, remote dealer services, and other teams to ensure the successful delivery of services.
The Supervisor will support and develop their Mobile Inspection team, and triage and/or escalate any field-based challenges to the appropriate teams (i.e. Dispatch, Help Desk, etc.). The Supervisor will have the opportunity to interact with multiple levels of the organization, and requires a detailed oriented team member that can think outside of the box and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Primary Duties / Key Responsibilities Manage the productivity and quality of a team of Mobile Inspectors, and closely partner with the Dispatch and Quality Assurance teams within Manheim Mobile Inspections.
- Ensure inspector adherence to established inspection processes, including the documentation of all required disclosures and photos within the inspection application.
- Monitor inspection quality through digital and in-person inspection audits, as well as arbitration reviews.
- Provide coaching and corrective actions / discipline as necessary.
- Build and maintain a strong working relationship with internal and external partners.
- Coordinate with the MMI Manager and boundary partners, including the Sales, Auction, and Remote Dealer Services teams, to ensure client expectations are met.
- Provide quality service and interact with automotive dealers and commercial clients to resolve issues and concerns.
- Recruit, hire, onboard, and provide ongoing support to employees.
- Provide or coordinate all skill-based and inspection-focused training for team members (Inspection app, eLearning, field training, etc.).
- Conduct vehicle inspections and floorplan audits as needed.
- Review work volumes and continuously monitor staffing levels.
- Review team performance against KPIs and LDM metrics; implement tactical plans with guidance from Mobile Inspections Manager.
- Coach, develop, and empower team members, and create a cohesive team environment.
- Procure, distribute, and track company equipment.
- Visibly demonstrate a commitment to safety by following all safety and health procedures. Model proper safety behaviors and monitor the team’s adherence to them.
- Conduct regular performance reviews for all direct reports in coordination with the Mobile Inspection Manager.
- Effectively lead team members by setting an example in behavior, championing Cox values, and ensuring that all employees are treated with respect.
- Enforce all company policies and procedures related to employee and customer conduct.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Experience & Specialized Knowledge and Skills
- High School Diploma/GED and 5+ years relevant experience in related field.
- One year’s experience in leading teams is preferred.
- Ability to work in a high performance, fast-paced team environment.
- Experience with mobile inspections and/or floorplan audits preferred.
- Previous body shop, mechanical, or estimating experience preferred.
- Displays a general understanding of frame and body repairs and mechanical knowledge.
- Technical and computer proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, scheduling & routing software, and vehicle inspection applications.

- Ability to sit, stand or walk for prolonged periods of time. Ability to bend, stoop, squat, or kneel; ability to lift and hold at least 10lbs at waist level for an extended period; ability to lift up to 30lbs.
- Exposure to moderate noise levels may be exposed to fumes and odors.

- Must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.

- Requires physical ability and mental acuity to execute the duties of the position successfully within required timeframes to meet business requirements.

Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary in the range of $61,100.00 - $91,700.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
