At Cox, Working to Protect the Planet Is Everyone’s Job

Protecting the planet is a team effort. Everyone needs to do their part — and that can be any action great or small.
It could be as significant as finding a new way to recycle materials. Or as tiny as making sure that the little piece of trash you’re holding right now in your hand gets to the right place (in our opinion, that place is almost never a landfill).
At Cox, we work together to create an environment where reducing waste and recycling materials are second nature. Every action counts — so as we’re composting food waste after lunch, properly disposing of aluminum soda cans or working together to organize e-waste donations at a recycling drive, we recognize that both baby steps and big strides put us closer toward our goal of building a better future for the next generation.

To help employees make mindful decisions for the planet, our Atlanta HQ sports plenty of recycling and compost stations, clearly labeled to help you understand what goes where — from coffee cups to paper towels.
And how about things that are more difficult to recycle, like plastic grocery bags? Nexus Circular, part of the Cox family of businesses, specializes in advanced plastics recycling. With Nexus Circular recycling bins on campus, employees can easily bring these items to work and drop them into the receptacle on their way in. Simple as that.
Cox also partners with the Centers for Hard to Recycle Materials (CHaRM). With CHaRM, employees are empowered to recycle almost anything imaginable, including paint, computers, appliances, chemicals, cooking oils and so much more. CHaRM even recycles old mattresses.

But access to recycling opportunities is just the beginning of what you can expect as an employee at Cox. When you join our team, you’ll get access to free environmental educational programs and volunteer opportunities that help keep your communities clean.
Plus, you’ll be surrounded by like-minded leaders and colleagues who genuinely care about our planet.

“Cox is a very forward-looking company, and in their desire to take care of their employees, Cox also genuinely wants to build a world in which we not only survive but truly thrive,” said Megan Freeman, recycling and waste diversion analyst at Cox Enterprises. “A foundational part of that is protecting nature and being responsible stewards of the resources that we have.”
